The activity consists of creating seedbeds of native species in recycled pots, promoting the importance of native trees for decarbonization.
Students will be responsible for their seed until it grows into a tree and is strong enough to be planted in open ground.
Benefits:
- For students: Children and young people will become true gardeners, learning about the life cycle of plants, the importance of native trees and their role in preserving the environment.
- For teachers: Practical and educational activity that connects students with nature and addresses topics such as ecology, botany and sustainability.
- For school: A way to encourage environmental awareness and care for nature in students. The ‘Sowing with Life’ activity is a powerful pedagogical tool to transform future citizens into more conscious citizens.
Why is Sowing with Life important?
- Awareness: Students will understand the importance of trees for the planet and the need to plant even more trees.
- Action: Hands-on activities will inspire students to care for nature and plant trees in their home area and neighboring communities.
- Knowledge: Students will learn about the life cycle of plants, the importance of biodiversity and the relationship between humans and nature.
Trees are essential for life on the planet. They produce oxygen, regulate the climate and shelter several species. By planting a tree, we are contributing to a greener and more sustainable future. Imagine a world where each of us plants a tree. A greener, healthier, happier world. With this activity, we can make a difference! Our activity is adapted to the age group of the students and can be personalized according to the native species of the region. We provide all the materials needed for the activity.
This activity can take place in the months of January, February, October, November and December.
