Responsible Purchasing Policy

The Responsible Purchasing Policy establishes the principles of Living Place – Animação Turística to achieve responsible and efficient management in the acquisition of goods and services, establishing a system of selection, evaluation and control of suppliers suited to the Company's needs.

Purpose

The purpose of this Responsible Purchasing Policy is to serve as a guide for decisions related to the acquisition of goods and services, ensuring the choice of suppliers that respect the basic principles of social, environmental and economic sustainability that give us the following responsibilities:

  • Ensure that supplier selection is always in compliance with integrity and ethics, transparency, trust, excellence, professionalism, innovation and sustainable development;
  • Demand compliance with applicable laws and regulations in all circumstances in the process of acquiring goods and services, as well as fundamental basic criteria related to human and labor rights, discrimination and equal opportunities, respect for the environment and ethical behavior, reflected in the 10 (ten) principles of the Global Compact, the Universal Declaration of Human Rights and the fundamental conventions of the International Labor Organization;
  • Ensure continuous improvement of the purchasing process, based on the principles of corporate responsibility and sustainability;
  • Encourage the creation and use of sustainable products, services and/or projects.

 

Scope of Application

This Policy has global application in all areas in which the company operates. Anyone who is part of it is responsible for promoting the principles and commitments contained in this Living Place – Animação Turística Policy.

All company activities must respect and guarantee the basic principles set out here, aiming at the continuous improvement of existing procedures and operations for the responsible acquisition of goods and services and improving management control systems.

 

Quality and Sustainability Commitments

Living Place – Animação Turística attaches fundamental importance to the responsible management of resources, with the following main principles being applied in all its purchasing and/or contracting processes:

  • Commitment to ensuring the quality of products and services provided and innovation;
  • We use seasonal produce from nearby local farms;
  • We promote the consumption of foods with a designation of origin from our location;
  • We developed “good practice manuals” to avoid producing food waste and leftover packaging at events;
  • We don't buy more than necessary, preferring fresh, bulk food from small stores and with as little packaging as possible;
  • We encourage the use of compost;
  • We prioritize the use of biodegradable materials to make gifts for users, customers or employees of the entity;
  • We are looking for new uses for waste products such as glass or plastic containers;
  • We correctly reuse leftover food;
  • We have recycling bins in both common and private areas;
  • We seek to purchase food in adequate quantity and quality, prioritizing natural and bulk products, with minimized packaging;
  • We share our experiences in “Sustainable Development” on our social networks;
  • We have partnerships with allies who carry out sustainable actions;
  • We collaborate with companies that offer alternatives to plastics;
  • Assessment of all suppliers for the same purchasing process whenever possible, ensuring their correct assessment in the selection and contracting process;
  • Independence in the decision to purchase goods or contract services, which must be made independently of any personal, family or economic relationship that may cast doubt on the criteria followed in the decision-making process;
  • Ethical and responsible behavior in relationships with suppliers, which will be developed with criteria of honesty, respect for people and social and environmental values. Likewise, Living Place – Animação Turística employees must always comply with what is indicated in the Employee Welcome Manual, ensuring compliance with current legislation in all areas of activity;
  • Efficiency in the contracting of goods and services to adapt it to the principles of necessity, adequacy and austerity in spending;
  • Diversification of business, as far as possible, among different local suppliers, in order to promote the creation of wealth in a balanced manner and with equal opportunities and to diversify risk;
  • Sustainability, as suppliers will be positively evaluated if they demonstrate commitment within their organization to raising the levels of information, training, health and well-being of workers through the assessment of occupational risks, demonstrate specific actions in the field of corporate responsibility, demonstrate adoption and respect for labor and social references, such as the basic conventions of the International Labor Organization (fair labor practices, right of association and collective bargaining, prohibition of forced or child labor, and non-discrimination in employment) or any other treaty, agreement, guideline or standard that derives from international organizations.

 

Living Place – Animação Turística will avoid hiring suppliers who are expressly known to have incurred any legal, fiscal, labor, environmental, health and safety or human rights violations in the last three years.

 

Update and Review

Living Place – Animação Turística's Responsible Purchasing Policy will be reviewed and updated, when appropriate, to adjust to changes in the company's business model or as a result of the approval of directly applicable regulations, ensuring its effectiveness and compliance.
