Waste Playing

Do you really know how to recycle? In this game, students' knowledge about recycling will be put to the test, and they will have to work together to try to identify which recycling point they should place less common products in, such as printers, mirrors, coffee capsules, among others.

Benefits:

  • For students: Children and young people will become true secret recycling agents, learning to identify different types of waste and the importance of selective collection for the environment.
  • For teachers: A practical and fun activity that connects students with sustainability and addresses topics such as selective collection, recycling and the circular economy.
  • For school: A great way to encourage environmental awareness and social responsibility in students. The game “Waste Playing” is a powerful pedagogical tool to transform future citizens into more conscious citizens.

Por que é que os Resíduos a Brincar são importantes?

  • Awareness: Students will understand the importance of selective collection for the environment.
  • Action: Hands-on activities will inspire students to put into practice what they learn at home and at school.
  • Knowledge: Students will learn about different types of waste, recycling processes and the importance of the circular economy.

Garbage is a big problem for the planet. By learning how to recycle correctly, we can reduce the amount of waste in landfills and protect the environment. Imagine a world where waste is transformed into new products and where nature is preserved. With the game ‘Waste Playing’, we can build a more sustainable future! Our game is adapted to the age group of the students and can be customized according to the school's objectives. We provide all the materials needed for the activity.
Year-round activity.

1 – What is the "Playing with Waste" workshop and what is its concept?

This is an environmental education activity where the concept of "trash" is challenged through play and creativity. In this workshop, students learn that many of the objects we discard can have a second life. Through playful activities, children and young people explore the correct separation of waste and discover how reuse can be fun and essential for the planet.

2 – What are the main pedagogical objectives of this activity?

The central objective is to instill the 5Rs policy (Reduce, Reuse, Recycle, Recover, and Refuse). The activity aims to raise students' awareness of the problem of excessive waste production, teaching them to identify materials and understand the environmental impact of improper disposal, promoting more sustainable behaviors at home and at school.

3 – How does this workshop help in the formation of more conscious citizens?

By "playing" with waste materials, students develop a critical awareness of consumption. Living Place uses everyday materials to demonstrate that the circular economy begins with our daily choices. It is a hands-on experience that transforms theoretical concepts about ecology into concrete and positive actions for the future of the ecosystem.
