1 – What will I discover on the “Coimbra Land of Traditions” tour?
This route is a true journey through time, through the soul of Coimbra. Our storytelling walk takes you through the historic streets of the Upper and Lower Towns, passing by the walls of the University (a UNESCO World Heritage Site), centuries-old churches, and imposing palaces. Along the Mondego River, we uncover the academic legends and traditions that make this city unique in the world.
2 – How is the city's history reconciled with nature on this tour?
Beyond the historic center, the experience includes a walk through the Choupal Forest. It's the perfect time to relax and contemplate nature, observing the diversity of birds and the tranquility of this green lung. It's a walk that perfectly balances the discovery of built heritage with moments of well-being outdoors.
3 – What is the level of difficulty and what is included in the activity?
The route is classified as easy/moderate difficulty, approximately 5 km long, and takes about 3 hours. The activity includes a specialized guide and all mandatory insurance (personal accident and civil liability). We recommend that you bring water, comfortable clothing, and appropriate shoes for walking on sidewalks and trails.
